Thanks that helps. Will there be more graduate jobs for next year added later this year to your job board? I am more interested in bigger companies like big four, banks and consulting, not the smaller Singapore only companies, because I would want to travel around and have a global career.

Quoting Samantha Galeano (Posted on: 08 August 2012 02:22PM)Hi there, I am extremely interested in in a graduate job within Singapore in 2012 however, like others have said, i am unclear as to whether any of the jobs advertised in the contactsingapore opportunities guide are suitable to my degree - environmental management and law, most appear to require experience. I Regards Sam Hi Sam, Is National Environment Agency the kind of company you are looking for. Please refer to page 12 of this guide http://www.contactsingapore.sg/OppSG2012/SurvivalGuide

one more quick question, Is there any particular qualities, experience or characteristics that Singaporean employers particularly look for in graduates, or that they value in Australian graduates in particular? anything that they find particularly impressive or makes someone extra employable in Singapore? Regards Sam

Regards Sam Hi Sam, At entry level, employers generally look for graduates with interests in their company and industry, a strong academic record and willingness to learn. Take look at page 14 and 15 of this guide for what Singapore Airlines and Visy are looking for in a candidate, just to have an idea. http://www.contactsingapore.sg/OppSG2012/SurvivalGuide

Hi, I was an ex-PR working previously in manufacturing industry. I graduated with Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology from University of South Australia through their offshore program conducted in Singapore. I'm planning to enter work-force now within Singapore. Where and who should be my first point of contact? I mean should it be through companies or the immigration in Singapore.

I'm planning to enter work-force now within Singapore. Where and who should be my first point of contact? I mean should it be through companies or the immigration in Singapore. Hi Sriram, If you are not a Singapore Citizen or PR, you need a work pass to be eligible for working in Singapore. This step-by-step guide will give you an idea of where to start http://www.contactsingapore.sg/interactives/8_steps_to_working_in_singapore/

Hi, I had got work holiday pass but it expired in Aug as I could not visit Singapore to collect the pass as I did not have any job offer or interview call. I made many applications but did not hear from anyone. I wish to know now that I don't hold any work right in Singapore but still looking for a graduate opportunity, how fair are the chances? Thanks.

That's agreed that I need a work pass. Isn't the employer who is supposed to sponsor my work pass? I had few offers from companies but after reviewing my visa status the employer didn't proceed any further. So, what is the problem here? How can I find out more about vacancies where international applicants would be eligible?

Sriram, check the link that contact singapore has provided, if that does not work, google about MOM singapore and you will get information about work holiday pass. Its a simple process and you will recieve a letter (via email) in 10 days which will let you enter the country once and then you pay the visa fees and collect he actual visa. So as of now you just have to send an email with all required docs. Of course check the eligibility criteria. Good luck! I hope this helps .

Krupali, my situation is quite different. I was an ex-PR in Singapore. And now I'm trying to enter workforce once again in Singapore after 4years. The company says since I was ex-PR I should get my PR re-instated and immigration mentioned that employer needs to provide letter to process my work pass. So, I don't understand whom else I should approach if it's not the employer and immigration. Basically, how should an international candidate start looking for work in Singapore. Is there any procedure that I need to initiate? Thank You
