Student Challenge 2012
The Student Challenge is an annual online competition for undergraduate students studying at Australian universities. The Student Challenge, asks you to solve a real-life business challenge for a Not-for-Profit organisation. In 2012, St James Ethics Centre has partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia to create two Student Challenge questions.
There is an overall Student Challenge and a 1st year Student Challenge. The overall Student Challenge is open to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students, while the 1st year Student Challenge is only open to 1st year students.
Taking part in the Student Challenge looks great on your CV, as prospective employers recognise it as an indication of your ‘job readiness’ and it also shows that you have the ability to apply your university knowledge to a real-life scenario. Damien Knowles, a Senior Manager at PwC and former Student Challenge judge says “The Student Challenge has an excellent reputation within the accounting industry, and participating in the Student Challenge will set you apart when seeking employment.”
All students who enter the Student Challenge stand the chance to win amazing prizes and experiences that money can’t buy. State Finalists also have the opportunity to meet and network with high profile accounting industry figures and prospective employers.
