Human Services Portfolio IT Graduate Program

To broaden and expand our graduate program, Centrelink has recently joined forces with the Department of Human Services and Medicare Australia to develop the new Human Services Portfolio National Graduate Program. The new program will provide you with greater experience and networking potential through offering rotations within other agencies across the portfolio and shared learning and development experiences. You only need to submit 1 application and you will have the option to apply for 1, 2 or all 3 agencies.

Centrelink Information Technology Stream

Centrelink is ranked number four in Australia for the size of its ICT network distributions. You can work in three fields depending on what sparks your interest. These include: infrastructure, business analysis and technical programming. ICT graduates undertake Diploma of Government training along with ICT Technical training such as M204 Overview, Operation Awareness and Testing Change Management, Application Development Environment tools, ITIL and Integrated Activity Management (IAM).

You will complete 2 rotations within your stream over the 12 month program.

In previous intakes, Centrelink have been able to offer ICT positions in Hobart, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide with the majority of positions Canberra based.

Medicare Australia Information Technology Stream

If you are joining the Medicare Australia IT graduate program you will get specialist training across system development lifecycle frameworks including testing technique processes and automation toolsets in particular HP Quality Centre 9.2, training in Cobol, Delta, Java and Websphere language.

You will complete 2 rotations within the 12 month program.

There is also an option to apply for a rotation within Centrelink or DHS – please note that the Medicare Australia IT stream only operates within Canberra.
