hi! I am a mechanical engineer and looking to get into graduate programs. Can anyone tell me how to prepare for the psychometric tests?
Hi.

You gotta practice! Heaps online. Also, don't cheat by aiming for what you think they want, because you might be wrong. They also have a lot of questions which are similar in wording just so you answer the same
Richy is right,

The purpose of psychometric testing is to determine personality, and the best kind of personality do exhibit is your own. Its funny, but providers such as TestGrid and Previsor can usually tell if someone is trying to answer questions differently because they will not follow a common pattern. Millions of people have sit these tests, so they are pretty accurate at determining personality, if you get rejected from a job because of these tests, then really the organisation is not right for you, rather than you are not right for the organisation.

If you are also sitting cognitive, abstract reasoning or mathematical tests (can be common in IT and engineering graduate assessments) then I suggest going online and having a bit of a practice, there are hundreds of examples out there! You wont be able to study but you can do a bit to train your mind to be more efficient at these types of questions.

Hope that helps out mate!

Let me know how you go,
